In the new tradition of starting new traditions, we had an Easter Sunday that was fantastic.
As with the rest of the holidays that have come and gone in the last 6 months, I was completely unprepared. I don't know what has happened, but I feel like every one of them has snuck up on us, and then we are left wondering how we will celebrate. So, on Saturday afternoon, I ran down to the country store and bought a ham (I know, the planner, had no plan at all!). I had wanted to do so much: Resurrection rolls, baskets, decorations, but that wasn't happening this year. So, I will put that on my to do list for next year - maybe...
On Sunday morning, we enjoyed a wonderful service at our new church home. We have enjoyed Terry's series during Lent and have been personally challenged to view these 40 days in a brand new light. After church, we came home and had our Easter lunch outside in the sun! It was gorgeous and just the right temperature to eat outside.
Then, on a last minute decision, we headed out to the beach.
We have yet to head out that way, and what better day! It was so much fun. I am remiss to say that there is not much in this world that will make me slow down and enjoy life. But listening to the ocean waves and sitting in the sun did just that. It was awesome! Hopefully the weather will cooperate for round 2 next year.
The sweet feet of my boys
Christopher actually spent a lot of time walking in the water. It was FRIGID!
