Happy Mother's Day!

In my life, I have been blessed to know so many wonderful mothers. Most of all, I have been blessed to have 4 women who have pouring into me as a mom from day 1 and I wanted to just take a moment to say thank you for everything.

My mom and I have not always had the best of relationships, but now she is my best friend (after Chris of course). I know I can call her with anything at anytime and she'll listen to my craziness and love me through it.  I am so thankful for those hard years, because now I have a relationship with her that I had always wanted.  As a grandmother, Nana, she loves these boys so much and would do anything to get to see them grow up everyday.

My mother-in-law has been a source of inspiration for me for 12 years now.  In her, I have seen strength and perseverance, love and patience.  Through her example I have seen unconditional love. Our relationship goes beyond that of the typical mother in law, daughter in law, especially in that we get along so well, and has moved into so much more.  She can be crazy with me, we laugh, and she keeps me grounded when I am in freak out mode and Chris' words aren't calming me down.  Grammie, as she is known to our beautiful blessings, showers love and affection, plays ball outside and makes the best PWT hot dogs around!

Mimi, formerly known as Meemaw,  is  my husband's grandmother, but mine as well.  Love and kindness are the best words that describe her, and what she lives out daily.  She is so patient with Chris and I. She is definitely the matriarch of our family and the one we go to for final advice on so many things.  I know there are so many days that she thinks I have lost my mind, but has been so kind as to not say it out loud.  She has been there to love on 3 generations and I am so grateful to have her love for me too.  If you ask Christopher, Mimi hung the moon. Mimi is so much more than a grandmother/mother. She is a friend, and a confidant.  What would we do without her?

My step-mom, Michelle, aka Gramma, has blessed me immensely these last 5 years.  She is a prayer-warrior, and I know that no matter what our needs are, she will pray without ceasing for us and for those we love.  She has shown me how to love her children through the hard times; the times when you want to throw up your hands, but also want to throw your arms around them and never let go.  She has brought joy, laughter and silliness to our family. She loved Christopher before she ever met him, and loves him and Aiden with so much of herself that I know she was always meant to be their Gramma.

To these women I am forever grateful that you are a part of my life.  Every single one of these women have shown me what it means to be a mother and what it means to love unconditionally.  All of you have helped to shape and mold me, to love me through it all.  I can never say thank you enough.

Finally, to the one who is watching us from heaven.  My grandma passed away 5 years ago, when Christopher was just 9 months old. I am so thankful for all the years I had with her.  She was always there for me with love, and also a stern word when needed. When I was a crazy teenager, she tried to encourage my mom to hang in there.  As an adult, she supported me and my off the wall decisions, even tho she did not always agree. I have missed her so much these last few years and there are many times that I have had to stop myself from picking up the phone to call her and just chat. I am so glad she was at my wedding and met Christopher when he was so young. She has been missed, but I know that I will one day see her again.

Happy Mother's Day to all the wonderful moms in my life, both family and friends.
