Happy Birthday, Bubba Boy!

It's here again. February 23rd. The day I have to admit that my baby boy continues to get older. I didn't even hang the birthday banner this year, and yet he still gets to turn 8!

Look at that smile!  One of the many things about him that always brightens my days. So full of love and life,  you can't help but smile back and say, "Thank you, Lord, for this beautiful blessing!"

Learning to ski was a big deal this year. Take this boy to the top and off he goes, flying down and enjoying the ride. Sweet boy, may you always enjoy this ride called life, not letting the little bumps and falls along the way slow you down.

Sweet times with best friends always make the day brighter!

I know I should have put the camera down and helped, but it was truly hilarious!

So many ways that you show love - full of hugs, laughter, kisses and so much more.
I am so thankful that you are our blessing!
Happy 8th Birthday!

Last night was Aiden's turn to help Mommy cook. We made a special cake for Chris' co-workers.

And Aiden had the bonus of the beaters all to himself!  The. Best. Part.
(He may or may not have dipped that back into the batter... but I'll never tell!)

Snow Day *Finally*

Aiden liked his first snow a lot better this year than last.

 The hill is ready...

  On your mark, get set....

Chris had a great idea for letting Aiden sled, too.

Needless to say, he loved it!

Every snow wanderer needs his cocoa to warm up afterward.

Hear that???

That would be the sound of a lone wind as tumble weeds (brought some up from West Texas for nostalgia purposes) roll through the absent space of our family blog.

Sorry 'bout that *sheepish grin*.

Here's a cutie pie pic to hold you over a minute.

Hate to say it...

But we are missing football already!  A few weeks ago, we finished off the season with the Tiny Mite Superbowl and a great party for the kids.  Since then, we have been having football withdrawals!  It has been strange to have all this free time and being able to cook dinner and eat it at home instead of at practice.  But it has been nice too be able to do those things too.  We will miss football, but until then we have some great pictures to hold us until next season.

Helping with a tackle in our last regular season game.

That would be Christopher being tackled by 2 defenders.

Strong arm and keep on going.

And on his way to the end zone!  He got his first touchdown in that game and we are so proud of him and the Seacoast Titan Tiny Mites!

Halloween Fun

Well, after much snow, power outages and delays, we were finally able to take the kids out trick or treating on Monday night (who would have thought to actually do that on Halloween?!)
My bird boys were ready to head out as soon as the clock struck 5, the official trick or treating start time. It started out as one of those nights when Aiden was not having any part of his costume, but thankfully once we got outside he let me put it on and never thought about taking it off again.
And we're off!

We did a practice round at our friends' grandparents' house. Aiden had it down after that and he was ready to go to other doors.  What kid wouldn't love this: look cute, smile and ask nicely and candy is dropped into your hands!  Score!

The country is safe, and large green pigs will run and hide from these two!

Riding in style from house to house.  So thankful they brought this out with us!  Made the night much easier.

Happy Halloween from our gang of goblins!

First Snow - 2011

It may have come unbelievably early this year, but it didn't stop Christopher from running outside to catch his first snowflakes of the year.  I love his unwavering enthusiasm for the white precipitation, even when it never seems to stop falling!

It's hard to take Halloween pumpkins seriously when they are covered in snow.
